The Erie County Coroner has identified the body of one of the suspects in last week's string of bank robberies. He is Kenneth Hubbert, 28, of Erie.
Hubbert's body was found by Erie Police Sunday afternoon inside a room at the Downtown Erie Hotel. Police believe he died of an apparent heroin overdose.
The investigation of the body led police to arrest Anthony Herrmann, 34, and Erin Anderson, 27, both of Erie. They admitted robbing two banks in Erie to get money for heroin. Police say Hubbert was also involved in the robberies.
Meanwhile, other police agencies are trying to find if the three also robbed banks in their communities last week.
"Basically, we're in the process of comparing the surveillance footage from both banks, as well as the notes left behind by the robbery suspects themselves," said Det. Sgt. Michael Colby, of the Conneaut, Ohio Police Dept.
Seven bank robberies were committed in this area last week. They include two in Erie, two in Millcreek, two in Chautauqua County, New York, and one in Conneaut, Ohio.
