Erie's Downtown Partnership says 2012 was a very successful year. And the group hopes to use that success to build for the future.
At the group's annual meeting today. leaders pointed to several new business openings in the past year. And a record amount of money raised for charities during the weekly summer block parties. Now the organization is focusing on developing a new master plan to help the downtown move forward.
Erie Downtown Partnership Board Chairman Tim Wachter said, "The next step is to consider all that has occurred for the market and retail analysis for downtown Erie into a new master plan to continue the development throughout the next 5 years into the foreseeable future."
The last master plan was done in 2007.
