A big honor today for the Intelligence Studies Program at Mercyhurst University. During a campus ceremony, the U.S. State Department thanked the school for developing a training program for law enforcement in many countries around the world.
The 5 year old progtram helps foreign police identify and work to prevent terror plots to protect their citizens and Americans.
Wayne Cleveland of the State Department said, "Frankly we want them to fight the fight there, as opposed to us fighting it here. So we're improving their skill set and Mercyhurst has done a lot to help us with that."
After the award presentation, the U.S. State Department officials toured the new buidling housing the Intelligence Studies Program.
