It looks like the Erie Parking Authority is making some changes because of people abusing the handicap parking regulations.
And details on those changes expected to be announced during a news conference Thursday afternoon.
For several weeks this summer, we monitored the issue.
We found the same vehicles parking, pretty much in the same spots, all summer, all day long.
They would put up a handicap placard, and never get a ticket.
Some of the placards are legal, others aren't.
Handicap parkers typically get a 10 minute leeway, past the time their meter runs out.
But, because it's become a widespread abuse, the parking authority is considering changing their policy: of "looking the other way."
Catch the details on the changes first on the CW at 4:00. We'll bring you more tonight on 12News starting at 5 and SEE news at 6.
