Penn State Behrend introduced some high school girls to the world of engineering on Friday.
It was "Women in Engineering Day" on campus, and the school invited female Juniors and Seniors to try their hand at interactive projects.
The girls also got a chance to learn from experienced women in the field, with mentors from General Electric and Lord Corporation.
Behrend does this every year, to encourage the kids to explore their options.
"We're really trying to get the girls to think about engineering, to think about how it helps people, how you can impact people lives," said Melanie Ford of Behrend's Engineering department. "It's just really to encourage them to go into any kind of an engineering career."
This year saw the largest turnout to date, with students from 11 schools.
