28th Annual Festival of Trees Begins

Posted: Updated:

The 28th annual Saint Vincent Auxiliary Festival of Trees opens Wednesday at noon at the Bayfront Convention Center.  It features 100 professionally decorated Christmas trees.  Each year local designers, many of them florists decorate multiple trees and they never seem to run out of creative ideas.  Each tree is unique.  From the Grinch to a little bit of Paris, visitors will see some amazing creations.  There is also a collection of nativities from around the world to see, thanks to Erie Dawn.  The organization that helps homeless women find shelter calls the display, "No Room at the Inn."   Ant there are plenty of activities for kids, including a visit to Santa's Castle and a chance to see some live reindeer.

This is the second year the event is held at the Bayfront Convention Center, and the second year that all the money raised will benefit the Saint Vincent Children's Miracle Network.  The festival opens Wednesday at noon and runs through Thanksgiving weekend, wrapping up on Sunday.  You can purchase festival tickets at the door, and purchase tickets for breakfast with Santa at the Warner Box office.  For more information check the Festival of Trees web sitehttp://www.saintvincenthealth.com/About/Volunteer-Opportunities-at-Saint-Vincent/Festival-of-Trees/default.aspx
