TOLEDO - The Toledo women's soccer team was recently recognized for its achievements in the classroom by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as it received the 2011-12 NSCAA Team Academic Award.
The Rockets posted a 3.58 overall grade-point average during the 2011-12 academic year to rank sixth among Division I programs, marking the seventh-consecutive year they have posted a top-10 mark. UT also finished third nationally in 2005-06, tied for second in 2006-07, 10th in 2007-08, second in 2008-09, tied for second in 2009-10 and most recently tied for fifth in 2010-11.
Toledo was one of four Mid-American Conference teams to rank among the top 10, along with national leader Western Michigan (3.65 GPA), No. 3 Bowling Green (3.61 GPA) and No. 4 Central Michigan (3.61 GPA).
The three-time MAC regular-season and four-time tournament champions have posted team GPAs above 3.0 in each of the last 23 semesters under Head Coach Brad Evans.
