Workers are now finishing up a major project at the Erie City Mission. It's phase one of a three phase project.
Workers are painting, installing flooring and testing alarms.
The $2.5 million facility will include the New Life Center, and dorms housing additional beds for the homeless. It's scheduled to open in early January.
The men helped by the mission say they can't wait to check out the new facility.
Jeff Long said, "Just the fact that it is new gives us something to look forward to and also boosts morale. Something new in our lives, something to look forward to."
The project is all paid for with donations. And work will not start on phase two or phase three until the money is available.
Those phases will include a new kitchen, dining room and chapel.
