La Peer Health Systems in Beverly Hills Now Boasts Super Doctors in Eight Departments

An incredible 17 doctors at La Peer Health Systems have been named Los Angeles Magazine’s list of Super Doctors.

Super Doctors is a directory of some of the most outstanding physicians of more than 40 medical specialties. Each was selected because of a high degree of peer recognition or professional achievement. With so many doctors named to this list, La Peer Health Systems should be regarded as one of the premier surgery centers in Beverly Hills.

In selecting physicians for Super Doctors, Key Professional Media employs a rigorous multi-step process designed to identify physicians who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Super Doctors is a selective yet diverse listing of outstanding doctors, representing consumer-oriented medical specialties.

Doctors are asked nominate doctors who, if they needed medical care, they would choose for their own care. A research staff also adds candidates by searching medical databases, online sources, and publications. The candidates are evaluated on 10 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. A blue ribbon panel reviews the list of candidates and a final tally is made.

Approximately 5 percent of the physicians within the respective state or region are named to Super Doctors

La Peer Department of Orthopedic Surgery had five surgeons recognized by Los Angeles Magazine. Joseph Isaacson, MD, Steven Meier, MD, Eric Millstein, MD, Melvin Nutig, MD, and Andrew Weiss, MD were each selected to Super Doctors.

The Department of Gastroenterology had two representatives on Super Doctors: Mark Davidson, MD and Siamak Tabib, MD. Representing the Department of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) were Michel Babajanian, MD and Mani H. Zadeh, MD.

The Colorectal Surgery Department had three doctors earn Super Doctors honors: Liza Capiendo, MD, Eiman Firoozmand, MD, and Gary H. Hoffman, MD. The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department received a trio of selections in a pair of oculoplastic surgeons - Guy Massry, MD and David Savar, MD - and facial plastic surgeon Babak Azizzadeh, MD, FACS.

Other La Peer doctors receiving Super Doctor recognition were urologist Kiarash Michel, MD and gynecologist Peyman Banooni, MD.
