November 2012 will go down in the record books as cold and dry. Temperatures were on average 2.4 degrees below normal for the month. Only 0.99" of rainfall fell and just a trace of snowfall. November 23rd brought the windiest weather with a peak wind gust of 43 mph.
December 1st marks the first day of meteorological winter. The first official day of winter begins in about 3 weeks on December 21st. Around the beginning of December is typically when winter weather patterns begin hence the reason meteorological winter is now in season. Despite the new season, temperatures feel more like the middle of fall. The long range weather maps suggest a shift in the weather patterns toward the middle of December that could bring some blasts of cold and possibly snow.
