It was all about the girls Sunday down at the Bayfront Convention Center. Girls ages 11 to 17 gathered there for the Girls World Expo.
Its an event that brings young girls throughout the community together to talk about issues they're facing. There were plenty of workshops and demonstrations from local businesses.
Organizers say its a great way to help young girls make positive choices as they grow.
"There's a lot of women's expos that focus on adult women, but these teen girls are really making decisions now, this is the formative years for them," said co-founder of the event Varinda Missett. "They need to have all support of their community and female leaders that we can get them."
Girls from area high schools helped planned this event.
