A big boost for health care education today as LECOM donates new technology to Gannon University.
Doctors demonstrated the new equipment, including a high-tech, ultra-sound system, and TraumaMan, a simulated human torso.
The equipment, worth $50,000, wll upgrade medical education for Gannon students. And it will also be used by LECOM medical residents.
Gannon Senior Nicole Patsy said, "We'll know exactly what to do and be able to deliver that care."
LECOM Provost, Silvia Ferretti, DO, said, "What you want to do is get your confidence level of doing these procedures on models so then when you are given the task of a patient, you are at the best level you can possibly be."
Ganon and LECOM have a close relationship with 87 Gannon graduates currently enrolled in LECOM.
