The Women's Round Table in Erie kicked off its personal development sessions on Wednesday.
The group started their "Uniting Our Strength: 3rd Erie Conference on the Status of Women" Wednesday. Its a series of sessions that will engage the community, and discuss ways for women to support each other in business and personal life.
The kick off including a showing of the movie "Iron Jawed Angels," about what women went through to be able to vote. Some brought their young daughters, to help understand what it took for women to vote.
"I want them to see first hand, to visualize the struggles that they went through," said April Blum of the Women's Round Table. "I understand that they've read the struggles and they've seen that, but to be able to see it on the screen, I think that kind of hits home for them."
This session will continue throughout March.
