When temperatures go down, local shelters fill up; and they're asking for your help.
Community Shelter Services is in need of men's, women's and children's clothing, and accepts food donations as well.
Blankets and cleaning supplies are also in demand, as numbers in the shelters increase.
They're mainly in need of jeans, warm shirts, jackets, socks and underwear, in all sizes.
The holidays are always a good time to give back, and you can spread some holiday joy by going through your closets and finding items you no longer use.
"There is a real need," said Kitty Cancilla of CSS. "There are 247 beds in the city of Erie and yet there are many times... where people can't get a bed because every shelter is full. So this will accommodate as many as possible that can't get in other places."
You can drop off donations at the shelter's location at 655 West 16th Street, or at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
