The Erie Port Authority today packed up and moved out.
After 10 years in the bayfront Intermodal Center, the authority is moving to the nearby Cruise Boat Terminal, a building it owns. The terminal has been vacant since the Border Patrol moved out last March.
The authority will use about half of the complex, the rest of the space will be available for special events. The move will save the authority rent, plus the job of overseeing the Intermodal Center.
Ray Schreckengost of the Port Authority said, "Well we had the responsibility of managing the entire building and all the costs associated with the building. It was very expensive."
The authority will be open for business a it's new home on Monday.
