Books are always a nice Christmas gift, and on Sunday a local author presented his latest work just in time for the holidays.
The railroad is the topic of Kenneth Springirth's new book, which he introduced at Erie's Blasco Library.
It's called Honoring the New York Central Railroad," but it's not just for history buffs.
The book's pages are filled with pictures, making it a great addition to any collection.
The former Harborcreek Township Supervisor has written more than a dozen books on railways, which he sees as both the past and future of transportation.
"Railroads contributed more to the development of northwestern PA communities than any other form of transportation. The new highway for tomorrow happens to be rail," said Springirth.
