Take Back the Site Vigil Planned

The sisters of St. Joseph and the Sisters of Mercy will continue their tradition of reclaiming local sites marred by violence.  On Thursday, December 13 they will hold a prayer vigil at 428 West 17th street.  It's the site where 51 year old Mary Smith was brutally beaten on November 24th. She later died from the injuries suffered in the assault.

Erie police have charged 51 year old Jeff Selby with criminal homicide in Smith's death. A neighbor told us that Smith emerged from her apartment during the assault and asked a her to call for help.  The take back the site vigil is set for 5:15 PM on Thursday.
