Gannon University awarded 212 degrees during its winter commencement at Hammermill Center. Among the graduates were five students receiving doctoral degrees and 123 who earned master's degrees.
The students heard a message of hope from their college president and from keynote speaker, David Grzelak, a Lawrence Park native whose Gannon MBA led to a job as Board President at Komatsu, a top manufacturer of mining and construction equipment. Grzelak said, "There's going to be many jobs as we go forward for our good quality students who are needed to understand processes and be involved in innovation."
The grads are heading into a global economy. Their class included representatives from seven different countries including the United States.
