Some good news for Northwest, Ohio. Nearly 100 jobs are on the way after the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved state incentives for companies. Now, three different companies are investing in the area.
"This will ultimately lead to the creation of nearly 100 new jobs and $21 million of capital investment for our region," John Gibney with the Regional Growth Partnership, RGP, said.
He says with the help of JobsOhio and the local economic development leaders, RGP helped secure tax credits for 3 businesses to come to the area.
"This is good because what its showing is that businesses are finding success in Ohio because of a positive business environment," Gibney said.
In Tiffin, Taiho Corporation of America plans to create 35 new jobs and invest $13 million to develop a new production line. Eagle Railcar Services near Lima will invest more than $5 million to expand operations, adding 28 new jobs. And in Delta, NRI Industrial Sales is also investing millions in the community by setting up a distribution center, bringing 30-40 more jobs.
"It's going to be very positive for the Village of Delta," Delta Mayor Dan Miller said.
He says the Village will always welcome new jobs, especially with the way the economy has been the past few years.
"We believe we got the foundation we need, we've got everything under control and we're starting to promote the Village," Miller said.
There is no word on when people can begin to apply for jobs.
