Snow drought will tie record tomorrow

TOLEDO, Ohio -

The light snowfall yesterday only provided a trace of snow officially in Toledo. That means the streak of measurable snowfall continues and is currently at 282 days in a row. Tomorrow we will reach our 283rd day in a row which will tie the all time record set back in 2010 of the longest period on record without snow accumulation. The records go back to 1891.

Mother nature has a tendency to balance things out. Just because we have started off the season without any snow doesn't mean we will end the season with warm and dry conditions. It is interesting to note that following the 283 day streak without snow in 2010 we ended up getting 52" of snowfall during the 2010-11 winter. That is almost 15" above average.
