Days after hearing one man's plan for a new charter school, the Erie School Board is set to listen to a proposal for yet another charter school Thursday night.
Former Erie School Board member Gary Horton is set to unveil plans for the New Americans Friendship Academy charter school at a public hearing Thursday.
Horton says the school would focus on students taking English as a second language. At least one current school board member says the district already provides those services to students.
Horton needs the board's approval to open, but he could also go to the state if he's turned down locally.
The board also heard from Bishop Dwane Brock about his proposed charter school a few days ago. They're expected to vote on both proposals sometime next month.
