
For the 11th time this year, the religious community hosts a vigil, to take back a site of violence in the city of Erie.
Thursday night, a large crowd gathered outside of a home in the 400 block of west 17th street, to pray.
Last month, 51 year old MaryAnn Smith was killed, police say she was beaten to death by her boyfriend.
"I think MaryAnn was an amazing lady and her life was cut too short. She did so many wonderful things for people that's why you see this support." Said Rose Graham, with the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Network.
"I appreciate everyone coming here, there's actually more people than I thought, but my mom did know a lot of people and it's good that we're all here for this." Said MaryAnn's son, Lee Michael Smith.
Smith's boyfriend, Jeff Selby, is behind bars without bond charged with her murder.
