Gas prices are down to their lowest levels in weeks. In Ohio, the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.22. In Toledo, the average is down almost a dime from just one week ago to $3.16. At the Stop 'N Go at Dorr and Darlene, the price of unleaded fuel is all the way down to $2.89. Many drivers say that's enough to stop and fill up even if you don't need much.
"It's nice because you don't see gas at $2.89 a gallon, especially around the holidays," said one driver.
"We only needed a quarter tank but we figured we might as well top it off and save a couple of extra bucks," said another.
According to AAA, gas prices have dropped nearly 50 cents over the past two months, to a nationwide average of $3.30 a gallon. Some reports suggest those declines will likely continue.
One of the best things about seeing these low prices is the extra cash you can sink into gifts. Many drivers say it feels like an extra present, coming this close to the holidays.
"This is helping a lot of people out with gifts," says Pat Finley who fills up at the Stop 'N Go. "And I'm loving it."
