The County Council seat left vacant by Ebert Beeman will be filled by the end of this week.
Council members will review the 18 applications they received, and whittle it down to the top five for interviews.
This selection process begins Monday, and interviews will be held Wednesday.
Council president Phil Fatica said the interview process will help determine who meshes well with the group, and can work effectively on the team with a willingness to coordinate and compromise.
The final outcome of the council members votes will be announced on Friday.
