It appears a long-delayed project to replace the Norman Way bridge over Mill Creek is now finally ready to move forward.
The original bids came in too high, so the project was re-bid. But now the $997,000 contract has been awarded.
All the design and engineering work is done, and the necessary permits are in hand. So the work is expected to start early next spring and be done by fall.
The project will also include rebuilding part of a retaining wall along the creek, just north of the bridge along Glenwood Park Avenue.
