Refugee students at local elementary schools got a special gift on Wednesday, from students at Collegiate Academy.
McKinley Elementary was just one of the schools where Collegiate students delivered holiday baskets.
They were packed with everything from school supplies to hats and gloves, and, according to the collegiate kids, seeing the smiles on the student's faces was the best part.
"It made it totally worthwhile," said Freshman Julya Polaski. "I know some of these kids come from hard backgrounds and they've seen things that I can't even imagine, but it's so great to see them happy at Christmas and even if you don't celebrate Christmas... it's still a season of giving, and that's what it's all about."
400 students at four Erie schools got the baskets.
