Record snow drought ends

TOLEDO, Ohio -

The latest winter storm wasn't anything to write home about in northwest Ohio and in southeast Michigan. However, it was just enough to end the record streak of snowless days. The last measurable snowfall was on March 5th. Even though most folks didn't wake up to snow accumulation in the Toledo metro area, the Toledo Express airport did report 6/10" of an inch and that should stand as the official snow data for the day.

The highest snow totals in the area came from the Ottawa, Paulding and Lima where totals were between 1-1.5". Wind gusts were between 40 to 50 mph across the viewing area.

Five tornadoes have been confirmed in northwest Ohio by the National Weather Service, from the midweek thunderstorms. There were one EF-1, and four EF-0s, touching down in Van Wert, Henry and Wood Counties.
