Fremont remembers victims of Sandy Hook

Fremont community came together to remember the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

A small group, with huge hearts, gathered to remember each student and staff member who died.  They prayed for peace and comfort for the Newtown community.  They also released 26 balloons.  Each had a picture for the victims.

"Even though we're in Ohio and they're in Connecticut, we're there with them," Candi Noftz, one of the organizers said.

"They may never know us and we may never know them, but they need to know, we are constantly thinking of them and praying for them," Cassandrea Anderson, an organizer said.

Like many parents Anderson is having a hard time coming to grips with the tragedy.  She says it feels like it happened in her own community.

"I can't fathom it," she said.

Across the nation, people gathered to observe moments of silence to honor the 29 children and 6 adults killed a week ago Friday.
