TOLEDO, Ohio -
A weak storm system is expected to move over the Pacific Northwest tonight and dive into the northern plains late on Sunday. The upper-level wave will intensify and run into some moisture as it crosses the Mississippi river early on Christmas Eve. Cold air will remain in place across southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio. The combination should lead to a developing band of light snow right over the viewing area by Monday afternoon and evening. Assuming the storm doesn't shift its track, an inch or two of snowfall is expected to pad the rooftops for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning.
