Christmas Eve was the last day for shoppers to get out, and buy the last of their presents. Most of the shoppers we spoke to tell us that the majority of their shopping has been finished, and Christmas Eve was all about picking up those last minute gifts.
Millcreek Mall opened at 7:00 AM for those shoppers who may have waited to start buying gifts or forgot a few this Christmas. This year, a Consumer Reports polls
shows that an estimated 17 million Americans were going to be shopping on Christmas Eve.
Here in Erie, though, shoppers tell us this year wasn't hasn't been as busy in the year's past. But they say, its the perfect day to be out shopping.
"Its great," said Mary Beth Cimino of Erie. "Everybody is happy and the parking lot was good when I came in."
"I think this is the least cars I've ever seen in the mall parking lot in my life," said John Myers of Yorktown, Virginia. "So I'm going to start doing this every year, Christmas Eve at the mall."
"Maybe everybody was anticipating that storm and went out before that, but it seems pretty good, parking lot wasn't bad," said Brian Langer of Wisconsin.
People we spoke with also say they also enjoy the great sales they get shopping on Christmas Eve.
