Police say alcohol a factor in deadly wrong-way crash on I-75

One person is dead after a wrong-way crash on I-75 southbound near Ottawa River Road, and police say alcohol appears to have played a role.

Police say a white SUV was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes when they hit a car head-on.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was rushed to the hospital. At last check, he was listed in fair condition.

The expressway was shutdown for hours Tuesday morning. I-75 has since reopened to traffic.

Investigators have not released the names of either driver involved in the crash.
