HOUSTON -
A moderate risk for severe weather has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center. Severe thunderstorms are developing and will interact with a warm front along the gulf coast this afternoon. There is a high chance that some of these thunderstorms will produce tornadoes. In fact today's severe weather could be the worst ever recorded on Christmas Day. Since 1950 there have only been 30 tornadoes recorded on Christmas. The last time a tornado developed on the winter holiday was in 2006. There have only been 8 years since 1950 where tornadoes have occurred.
