Traffic fatality reported in midst of Ohio storm

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Winter weather likely contributed to at least one fatality in Ohio, when an 18-year-old woman lost control of her car and crashed into an oncoming snow plow on a highway northeast of Cincinnati.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Jessica Galley of Mason was killed at around 3 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control of her car on southbound Interstate 71, drove across the median and crashed into a northbound Ohio Department of Transportation plow.

Although the worst of the storm was over Wednesday night, drivers across the state were preparing for a slick commute Thursday morning as plow crews continued to work to clear roads of snow and ice.

Strong winds and snow whipping across Ohio all day Wednesday caused scores of accidents, lane closures and grounded flights.
