Beeman's Lawyer Asks to Withdraw

Former Erie County Councilman Ebert Beeman may now have to find a new lawyer.

In a court filing today, lawyer Jeff Del Fuoco asked for court permission to withdraw as Beeman's counsel. It turns out, Del Fuoco is related to the man that replaced Beeman.

That man, is 50-year-old Edward DiMattio. According to Del Fuoco, the two are second cousins.

Last Friday, DiMattio was appointed by Erie County Council to serve the remainder of Beeman's four-year term, which expires next year. Beeman is currently serving a year in prison, for Social Security fraud.
