Scientists studying Sandy Hook gunman's DNA

Posted: Updated:

Geneticists are now studying the DNA of Sandy Hook Elementary gunman Adam Lanza.

The Connecticut State Medial Examiner's Office asked them to join the investigation. The spokesperson says there's nothing in particular they are looking for, but investigators are still trying to understand why Lanza went on a shooting spree that left 26 people dead.

Lab results are not expected for several weeks.
