OREGON, Ohio -
The second round of snow in a week is good news for area snow plow drivers. After a long snow drought they say it's about time.
Maumee Bay Turf Center in Oregon plows a number of commercial lots each winter. The company keeps busy year-round with turf installation and landscaping, but snow removal is a big part of their business.
"It's been busy," Co-owner Brad Morrison says. "I think we all forgot how to plow snow."
They maintain about 30 plows and employ dozens of people. Now, they're happy to see those plow trucks put to good use.
Morisson says, "We were down a little bit, but not much like I said. You know we make a vow our guys get 40 hours a week no matter what. All winter long we keep our guys on full time, so it hurt."
Morrison says the workers are thrilled to finally be racking up some overtime.
This year, they are hopeful for a strong winter season.
