Light snow continues as 2012 comes to an end

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

Light snow continues to fall across most of Northwest Ohio and extreme southeastern parts of Michigan.  A dusting to an inch of snow remains our forecast for our Ohio counties, with only a very light dusting anticipated in southeast Michigan.  The light snow will taper down to snow showers close to midnight, with lighter snow showers and flurries ending by daybreak on New Year's Day.

Looking ahead at January, here are some climate stats:

January is a month with very few changes, when it comes to our average highs and lows.  In Toledo, the average highs are 32 degrees or 33 degrees, all month long.  Average lows are 19 degrees or 18 degrees, each day.

January 31st has 48 more minutes of daylight than New Year's Day.

Toledo averages 11.4" of snow, in the typical January.

Happy New Year, and be safe on the roadways tonight!
