There are a lot of new faces in Harrisburg.
Newly elected lawmakers celebrated New Year's Day, by taking their oath of office at the state Capitol in Harrisburg.
The House and Senate convened shortly after noon Tuesday, for the ceremony.
33 freshman were sworn in, including Senator Sean Wiley.
Wiley said one of his top priorities is the re-classification of Erie county.
"The distinction of urban to rural classification, the reclassification really impacted the human services community in Erie County, pretty drastically. And that's one issue, in the very, very short term that we're willing to rectify." Said Wiley.
State Representative Greg Lucas of the 5th district, which includes Crawford and Erie counties also took the oath of office today.
State Representative Ryan Bizzarro of Erie's 3rd district, was also sworn in Tuesday afternoon.
He says he'll strive to promote business development in Erie county, and to improve the commonwealth's education system.
"The main areas that I want to focus on are business development, public safety and education. All those areas are crucial to the development of this county and the state. So, I'm very excited to be a part of this legislative session, and I'm very excited to make an impact in the legislature." Said Bizzarro.
