National Fuel Gas customers may end up paying more to heat their homes next winter.
The company submitted its required estimated cost to purchase gas for the following year.
Starting August 1st, typical residential customers using 90,000 cubic feet of gas can expect to pay an extra $7 per month. This increases a $77 bill to nearly $84. That's a 9.2% increase.
This is just the forecasted increase for the following winter. Its future depends upon review and approval by Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
National Fuel says it is required to pass on changes in gas prices to its customers. Law also requires the company to shop around for reasonably priced gas.
