A Crawford County home is destroyed after fire tears through the two-story house in Sparta Township.
The fire was so destructive, a 12 year old boy is suffering from more than 50% of his body as he is hospitalized in Pittsburgh. His 15 year old sister, along with his mom and dad: Don and Christy Esh, were all taken to Corry Memorial Hospital late Wednesday night.
The fire started around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Canadohta Road. Spartansburg Fire Chief Mark Scouten says the home was fully involved when crews arrived. The roof also collapsed within minutes. He believes the family was sleeping upstairs, when the fire started, downstairs.Three other agencies were called to the scene for assistance.
Scouten will be making a ruling on the fire, after talking with the family. For now, the fire is still under investigation.
