Erie Police Investigate First Shooting of 2013

Just three days into the new year, and Erie Police are now investigating the city's first shooting of 2013. 

A report of shots fired brought police to the corner of 17th and Cherry Streets around 7:00 tonight.

According to police, a man was shot in the left leg as he was standing outside.  Witnesses at the scene say they heard at least two shots.  Police searched the area for shell casings, but didn't find anything.

Emergency crews rushed the man to the hospital for treatment.  The investigation's ongoing.
