The bench faces the building where Brandy studied Sociology, It is engraved with one of her favorite sayings, "Keep calm and carry on."
Her mother attended the dedication. Carrie Rosine said, "The bench will give people a place to go, to laugh, to cry, or just be at peace with themselves and with Brandy." After the dedication, they released balloons, each with a special message or memory of brandy written on it.
