State Senator Sean D. Wiley (D – 49th) has been named the Democratic Chairman of the Intergovernmental Operations Committee. The committee was created in the last legislative session with the aim of streamlining state government and possibly consolidating agencies.
"This appointment gives me the opportunity to take on one of the issues the public seems most concerned about. Making sure state government runs efficiently and cost effectively is at the heart of keeping faith with taxpayers. I think there is an opportunity to have a substantial impact on how taxpayer dollars are spent at a time of tight revenue and increasing public impatience with bureaucracy," said Sen. Wiley.
Wiley will serve on 4 other committees:
· Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee
· Public Health and Welfare Committee
· Labor and Industry Committee
· Communications and Technology Committee
