The flu outbreak that has been such a big problem in Erie County is also a major problem in Crawford County. The Pennsylvania Department of Health says 112 confirmed cases have been reported. And many more people are sick with flu-like symptoms.
Schools and senior centers have seen drops in attendance. While pharmacies and medical offices have been getting slammed with patients complaining of fever, severe body aches and just feeling lousy all over.
Doctors say the flu hit Meadville hard starting around Christmas and the number of patients remains high.
Mark Lewis, D.O. of Meadville ExpressCare said, "We've actually broken a couple of records as far as the number of patients seen. Two weeks ago we broke a record. Then last week we broke that record. We've not been this busy with the flu for years."
