Area Senior Honored for Christmas Card Art

Holiday memories this year will be lasting for one Collegiate Academy senior, after her pen-and-ink drawing of the statue of Oliver Hazard Perry became the cover for the City's holiday greetings card.

Mayor Joe Sinnott presenting a framed copy of the card to senior Hannah Gilman Thursday.

Gilman says she has been drawing for most of her life, a skill that was honed after attending classes at the Temple School of Art.

"I was really excited," she told us about being chosen for the card, "I didn't even know I was an option."

Gilman is looking to attend Kenyon College next year, where she hopes to major in both science and art.
