Students got an in-depth look at how they can help stop environmental issues.
The Tom Ridge Environmental Center hosted a seminar, put on by Environment Erie.
Presentations focused on various issues like conservation, and how prescription drugs and personal hygiene products, like shampoo, affect our waterways.
Interactive activities gave students a hands-on experience.
It was a necessary lesson for local kids, who enjoy our area's greatest natural resource.
"We are within the Lake Erie Watershed," said Nate Millet, Education Manager for Environment Erie. "It's very important for our students... to understand the issues we face here and help protect Lake Erie itself."
The students were from Wayne, Fort Leboeuf, Wilson, and Pfieffer-Burleigh schools.
