The local flu outbreak so far is showing no signs of easing. In fact, 119 new cases have been reported just this week in Erie County. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 406.
Char Berringer, R.N. of the Erie County Health Department said, "At this point, we don't have indications that we have peaked. We won't know until we have seen a decline. We have not seen a decline in the weekly numbers at this point."
So far, 43 victims have been admitted to local hospitals. And one death has been attributed to the flu.
Eight local long term care facilities report at least one confirmed case of the flu.
