A strong storm system will develop very strong winds above the ground overnight tonight. These winds will be approaching 60-70 mph about 1 mile above the surface. This will bring in lots of gulf moisture and some elevated instability all of the ingredients needed for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. While storms are not expected to be severe, rainfall totals could reach 1" across the area.
