Saturday's Spring-like conditions were nice for joggers, but they could have negative effects on Presque Isle itself.
For one, the unfrozen bay has wiped out the ice fishing season so far.
Conditions on the bay looked more like summertime on Saturday. It hasn't frozen yet this winter, and it was the same story last winter.
Warmer weather has also stopped ice dunes from forming along the Presque Isle shore.
Park rangers say there's still plenty of winter left for the dunes to form, but they'd be happy to see them soon, since they help conserve sand.
