Governor Tom Corbett is continuing his push to privatize, and the PA Lottery is the next target.
The administration has signed a 20 year deal for a British firm, Camelot Global Services, to take over the operations of the Pennsylvania Lottery system.
Under the agreement, Pennsylvania would still have rights to audit and keep a hand in controlling the lottery. Governor Corbett maintains that privatizing will stabilize lottery revenue.
But state unions and some lawmakers are opposed to the change.
Senator Sean Wiley expressed concern over Corbett not making the full details of the deal known, and said it could affect funding for senior citizens, and cut jobs.
The senate has scheduled a hearing on the issue on Monday.
The PA lottery is one of the most lucrative in the nation, bringing in 3.5 billion dollars in sales last year.
